The exterior is made from used bicycle tubes that are stormproof and include reflective webbing. This bag can hold a canned beverage, sunscreen, tubes, tools, and more. Make an eco-friendly statement by using a product made from materials that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
Spalding MTB. If you are from Philly, you might say spaldeen. Just like the pimple balls. Spalding makes sports stuff. When the MTB boom was happening, they had a line of bike
s, probably made by Giant Bicycles in Taiwan. This is the first bike
I bought as an adult. Purcahsed from Sears, Roebuck & Co. in 1990. It had a six speed freewheel and trple front. I thought I was cool. I was running seriously and using this bike
for transportation as I had no car. I rode it to New Hope and back, 50 hilly miles. I'll never forget this: I was doing the Philadelphia to Atlantic City American Cancer Society Ride. Some jerkoff on a Colnago puled up next to me. I was easily impressed in those days, so I said "hey, nice bike." This asshole said "I have a bike just like yours, but I left it home - harharhar." That's just fucking rude. I should have stuck my pump in his spokes. I keep this so I'll never be a bike snob.
Lugged steel, weighs a ton, lots of good memories.
Sold my Rush Hour Pro and went back to steel.
I spent a long time debating whether to get a Surly Steamroller or an EAI Bareknuckle. Ultimately, I discovered a frameset that's a compromise between the two: the All-City Big Block.
The geometry is tight, but I still have the freedom of putting [relatively] wide tires on it if I choose.
Currently set up as my rain bike/commuter

Virtually unbreakable, this lightweight, vacuum-insulated thermos travels to work or recreation easily, and for hours afterward, coffee, tea, or broth will still be hot. Or lemonade, iced tea, or a sports drink will still be chilled. Tapered toward the top and slim enough (11 inches high, 3 inches in diameter at bottom) to safely pour with one hand, it slips into a briefcase or backpack. Pouring is a snap--twist off the cup, which holds 6 ounces of liquid, twist the stopper a few turns and pour through a no-drip slot (there's one for righthanders, another for lefthanders) without removing the stopper. Fine threading ensures the stopper seals tightly, while the exterior has a handsome satin finish. The smooth interior cleans with sponge or cloth, and preheating or prechilling with hot or cold water is recommended. --Fred Brack
